Things to do on Dalmaji Hill, Busan: how to spend a half day on the hill above Haeundae?

A walk on the Moontan Road, the Blueline Park coastal tracks below, and a quiet table among the trees to finish

Dalmaji Hill is the wooded ridge between Haeundae Beach and Songjeong. A half day there can mean a walk on the Moontan Road, the Haeundae Blueline Park coastal line below, and a rest at a forest greenhouse café at 491 Dalmaji-gil with free parking for 20 cars.

If you are looking for things to do on Dalmaji Hill, the simplest half day is a slow walk on the hill, a look at the coast below, and a long rest at a forest café to finish. The café sits at 491 Dalmaji-gil, 4 minutes by car from Songjeong Station and 14 minutes from Haeundae Station, with free parking for 20 cars.

What is Dalmaji Hill?

It is the wooded ridge that rises between Haeundae Beach and Songjeong. The road that climbs it, Dalmaji-gil, is known for its views and its cherry trees in spring. The name means something like "the hill where you greet the moon", and locals have long come here in the evening for exactly that.

Walk first — the Moontan Road

Many visitors start with the Moontan Road, a walking trail that runs along the slope of the hill through pine woods. It is an easy walk rather than a hike, and the trees keep it pleasant even in the middle of the day. Wear comfortable shoes and take your time; the Moontan Road is at its best in the morning light or near sunset.

Look down — the coast below the hill

Below the hill, the Haeundae Blueline Park line runs along the old coastal railway between Mipo, Cheongsapo and Songjeong. If you want to see the sea, plan that part of the day down there, then come back up Dalmaji Hill to rest. We are a forest café, not a seaside one — the view here is trees and mountains.

Rest — a forest greenhouse café

To end your half day after the Moontan Road, come up to Fruiterie Forest. There are two glass greenhouses (24 seats and 10 seats), an indoor hall with 40 seats, 28 forest seats among the trees, and a second-floor deck with 40 seats. On a clear day, sit outside among the trees; on a rainy day, the greenhouse keeps the garden in view. Fresh baby castella is baked to order, and the cold-pressed juice is made with fruit in season, letting the fruit set the sweetness. Dogs on a leash are welcome in the indoor 23-seat annex and outdoors, except the Moontan Rooftop.
